Giving Back
As leaders, problem-solving is at the center of what we do. RBC and its member companies step up. These are leaders with a heart, who have built their businesses in the region generation after generation.
Harsh realities such as disaster, poverty, crime, lack of quality education, and job disparities can serve as roadblocks and impediments to progress. To address these realities, RBC members stand together, work collaboratively, and keep moving forward because they know supporting those in need protects the well-being of the region as a whole.
United Way of Greater St. Louis
A strong nonprofit landscape enhances the overall well-being of the region. RBC member companies are major supporters of the United Way of Greater St. Louis, raising over $299M collectively since 2001 for United Way’s annual campaign to support those in need across our 16-county region.
Through the RBC’s It’s Our Region Fund “Small Change, Big Impact,” the RBC allocates $100,000 in grants each year to 20 to 30 nonprofit organizations needing funds for small capital improvement projects like the purchase of security equipment at a domestic violence shelter, roof repair at childcare facilities, new refrigerators at food banks, tools for community gardens, and many more critical needs that often go underfunded.
Each year RBC taps a team from its Leadership 100 to review the grant applications and determine the awards. Guided by RBC members, these young professionals learn about our region’s nonprofits and their needs, as well as the impact that philanthropy has on the strength and vitality of our region.
RBC’s St. Louis Social Venture Partners (SVP) program connects youth-education focused nonprofits with the capital and consulting expertise of business, foundation, and other philanthropic leaders.
SVP helps mid-sized nonprofits become stronger organizationally and grow their impact in the community. Over the last 25 years, RBC’s Social Venture Partners has helped 46 nonprofit organizations, including $2.8 million in grant funds.
Celebrating 25 years!
