Talent Development
The Regional Business Council believes that everyone has a right to a sustainable career, and the economic health of our region depends on the maintenance of a robust, diverse, and talented workforce. Through our workforce and talent development initiatives, we ensure that people have the knowledge, skills, and tools to access and excel in their professions. Initiatives like the Young Professionals Network provides professional development opportunities and networking to over 4,000 diverse leaders. We also work hard to build a strong pipeline for high school and post-secondary students to careers in the trades, advance manufacturing, healthcare, first response, and tech fields because we recognize the need for career paths that do not require four-year college degrees.
RBC members are focused on attracting, retaining, and developing talented, young, diverse professionals in the region and advocating for public policies and programs that support job growth and a robust workforce.
Talent Development Initiatives

Every academic year, area universities along with RBC's talent development committee hand-select business and engineering students to participate in the Mentor Network. The criteria for student participation includes academic performance, leadership outside the classroom, and willingness to stay and work in the St. Louis after graduation. These students are then individually paired with mentors who are top executives at RBC companies. Mentees to practical, “real world” knowledge from experts excelling in St. Louis' corporate landscape. Learn More
