K-12 Education

Educational efficacy is critical to the long-term prosperity of the region. The RBC works to invest in the economic future of the region by advancing opportunities for learning and academic excellence for every child in the region, especially disadvantaged youth.

We aim to ensure all students have access to an excellent education by developing strong leaders for every classroom and school, promoting high-performing school districts, and fostering quality governance at local and state levels.

Our Focus

  • RBC works to accelerate change in the St. Louis Public School District in partnership with Opportunity Trust and St. Louis Public Schools Foundation. We believe that a good education is the foundation to future success and all youth deserve equitable access to quality education.

    RBC is currently supporting the St. Louis Public Schools during the transition to a new superintendent in order to increase student performance. RBC members are also providing support to the new leadership at the St. Louis Public Schools Foundation as they strive to provide equitable outcomes for all students.

    We work with organizations such as KIPP St. Louis to strengthen performance and teacher satisfaction.

    We enlist RBC Members to work with and support boards of charter schools selected by the Opportunity Trust.

    RBC supports the reform or closing of under-performing charter schools to allocate resources to schools that are able to provide a quality education.

  • The RBC monitors policy at the local and state level and works with the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to advocate for improved education reform policies.

    We are working with the state on identifying policies that will increase student performance in low performing districts.
